Sicily is a place where the mountain meets with the sea, giving the chance to visit the seaside and the landscape of the highest active volcano of Europe in one day.
- The tour begins with a tour of Etna. We’ll notice the differences of the landscape while going up and we’ll look at the vegetation typical of the area.
- We’ll have a break in a shelter at 1910 metres above the sea level to taste different kind of honey and creams.
- We’ll visit the 1892 craters and some recent and ancient lava rivers too.
- Afterwards, we’ll reach the deepest cave of Etna, and after having worn the helmets, we’ll visit it.
- The lunch break will be in a pine forest and you will taste the typical food.
- Then, we’ll reach the seaside and in Acitrezza we’ll have a tour on a typical fishermen boat to have a better look of the Cyclops archipelago and the volcanic Lachea island. We’ll also look at the sea stacks of Ulysses which were created during an ancient submarine activity of the volcano.
- While listening to their myth, we’ll look at the basaltic columns, full of minerals which are the consequences of many submarine volcanoes.
